Whoopi Goldberg

 Caryn Elaine Johnson was born on on November 13th, 1955, is a famous American comedian writer, actor and TV host. She was given the Mark Twain Prize in American Humor in 2001. Goldberg started her stage career by presenting a one-woman show called Spook Show. The show was renamed into Broadway under the name of Whoopi Goldberg and was on stage from 1984 until 1985. In the course of recording the show, she was awarded the Grammy Award for Best Comedy Album. Her first film role was in 1985, when she played the part of Celie the woman who is treated badly in the Deep South in Steven Spielberg’s period drama film The Color Purple. She was awarded the Golden Globe Award as Best Actress in Motion Picture Drama.
