She is best known for her role as Lady Mary Crawley in the ITV television period drama Downton Abbey (2010-2015), for which she was nominated for a Golden Globe Award and three consecutive Primetime Emmy Awards for Outstanding Lead actress in a Drama Series.Dockery made her professional acting debut on stage with His Dark Materials in 2004. She was nominated to the Evening Standard Award for her role in the London revival of Pygmalion 2007. The award was presented to her to receive the Evening Standard Award in recognition of her performance as Eliza Doolittle in the 2009 revival of Pygmalion.
