Mariah Carey (/m@'raI@/ born on 27 March 1969) is a famous American singer and songwriter, actress and record producer. She is known as "Songbird Supreme" or "Queen of Christmas", and is well-known for her five-octave vocal range and distinctive whistle use. Carey gained notoriety in 1990 when she released her debut album, titled "Emotions". Carey was the first singer to have her first five songs go to number one on the Hot 100 chart of Billboard. These were "Vision of Love" and "Emotions". Carey was married to Tommy Mottola three years later. Carey enjoyed further success with her albums Music Box (1993), Merry Christmas (944) and Daydream (1995). The singles included "Hero"," "Without You" and" "All I Want for Christmas Is You", and "Fantasy" which climbed to the top of the US Billboard Hot 100 decennial chart (1990s).
