Bernard John Taupin, CBE (born 22 Mai 1950) is a popular English artist, songwriter and artist. He is most famous for his long-running partnership with the musician Elton John, a songwriting partnership that is one of the most successful in recent history. Taupin has written the lyrics for most of John's songs.In 1967, Taupin answered an advertisement in the music magazine New Musical Express placed by Liberty Records, a company which was looking for new writers. John answered the same advertisement and they've collaborated on a number of albums. Taupin and John were admitted into the Songwriters Hall of Fame in 1992.Taupin was born in Flatters House, a farmhouse situated between the village of Anwick and the town of Sleaford, in the southern portion of Lincolnshire, England, the son of Robert Taupin and Daphne, daughter of John Leonard Palchett "Poppy" Cort who was an educated classics professor at the University of Cambridge. teacher and former rector of Sale, Greater Manchester (then included as Cheshire)
