Earl Simmons (December 18, 1970 until April 9 2021) was known as DMX (short for "Dark Man X") was an American actor and rapper. His debut album called It's Hot and Dark was released in 1998 to great critical and commercial great success. The album sold 251,000 copies in its first week. In 1999, DMX released... and then There Was X. It featured the hit song "Party Up (Up here)". The singles he released "Where the Hood At?" and "X Gon Give It To Ya?" in 2003 were also hugely popular. and "X Going to Give It To Ya" are also commercially successful. The singer was the first in history to debut an album at No.1 on the Billboard 200 charts five times consecutively. Overall, DMX sold over 74 million records worldwide.DMX was featured in films such as Belly, Romeo Must Die, Exit Wounds, Cradle 2 the Grave, as well as Last Hour. He starred in the 2006 reality show DMX, Soul of a Man. It was aired by the BET cable television network. He wrote E.A.R.L., his memoirs in 2003. : The Autobiography of DMX.
