George Strait

 George Harvey Strait Sr. (born May 18 1952) is a famous American country music musician, songwriter, actor, and music producer. Strait is often referred to as the "King of Country" and is considered one of the most influential and well-known recording artists of all time.In the 1980s, he was a prominent and pioneering figure in the neotraditional country movement and was renowned for his straightforward cowboy image and roots-oriented sound in a time when the Nashville music industry was being dominated by crossover country acts.Strait's success began when his first single "Unwound" was a hit in 1981, signalling the popularization of the neotraditional sound. During the 1980s, seven of his albums hit top spot on charts of country. Strait was awarded his first Grammy for the album Troubadour in 2000. He was also named Artist of the Decade at the Academy of Country Music and elected into the Country Music Hall of Fame. Strait was awarded the CMA Entertainer Of The Year in 1989 in 1990, 1993, and 2013.
