Womens

International Women's Day (IWD) which is a global holiday is observed every year on March 8. It was first organized by the Socialist Party of America in New York City on February 28, 1909. The first version was supposedly the "Women's Day" that was organized by the Socialist Party of America in New York City February 28 1909. This prompted German participants at the 1910 International Socialist Women's Conference to propose "a particular Women's Day" be organized annually, albeit without a specific date; in the year following, there were the first demonstrations and commemorations of International Women's Day across Europe. IWD was declared a national holiday in March, after women were granted the right to vote through Soviet Russia in 1917, which was the year of the February Revolution.
