 Thomas Sowell, born June 30th 1930 Thomas Sowell, born June 30, 1930, is an American economist. He was an economics professor at Cornell University, the University of California, Los Angeles, and since 1980 at the Hoover Institution at Stanford University, where he is currently Senior Fellow. Sowell is a libertarian conservative who advocates supply-side economics. He has written over thirty books (a majority of which have been reprinted in revised editions). He was awarded the National Humanities Medal in 2002. In so far as they fail, they receive the money; in so far as they succeed or even to a modest degree, the money is removed away.During the discussion on Milton Friedman's "Free to Choose" television series in 1980.Socialism generally is a failure record that is so obvious that no intelligent person could avoid or ignore it.The Thomas Sowell Reader, New York: NY, Basic Books (2011) p. 144.
