 Spencer Michael Rattler, an American football quarterback was born on the 28th of September, 2000. He plays college football for South Carolina. Rattler began his college career with Oklahoma before transferring to South Carolina in 2021.Going into his first year as a redshirt freshman, Rattler competed with Tanner Mordecai for the position of starting quarterback. Lincoln Riley announced on September 1 that Rattler was selected to be the starting quarterback ahead of Mordecai. Rattler made his debut against Missouri State on September 12. Rattler beat the Oklahoma record of 8 touchdown passes in two weeks on September 26. This record was set by Sam Bradford back in 2008. Rattler's first game was not an easy one. His Sooners were defeated by Kansas State in Rattler's second attempt. In his third start, Rattler threw for 300 yards and 2 touchdowns in the game that ended in a loss to Iowa State. This loss ended the streak which was characterized by Iowa State lose 24 consecutive home games to Oklahoma. Rattler and the Sooners have returned to winning ways with a win over Texas in Red River Rivalry. Rattler played during the College Football Playoff Semifinal Game , which was played against LSU. In all, he played in a total of three games during the 2019 season.
