 American director and producer Ken Burns has a net value of $3.5 million. American filmmaker Ken Burns is well-known for his many documentaries and documentary shows on historical subjects. Some of his most famous films include "The Civil War,"" "Jazz," "Prohibition," "The Roosevelts," and "The Vietnam War." Burns films have been recognized for his use of archive footage and slow zooms into and out of photos which is known as the "Ken Burns effect. Burns has received more than 20 honorary degrees. His film "The Civil War" has won more than 40 major television and film awards, including two Emmy Awards, two Grammy Awards, Producer of the Year Award from the Producers Guild of America, and a People's Choice Award, a Peabody Award, a duPont-Columbia Award and a D. W. Griffith Award, as well as the $50,000 Lincoln Prize. The 2017 documentary "The Vietnam War", was also praised. There is the Ken Burns Wing at Hampshire College's Jerome Liebling Center for Film Photography, Film and Video. Burns was recognized with the S. Roger Horchow award for the most outstanding public service performed by a private citizen in 2004, an award which the Jefferson Awards gives out each year.
