John Patrick McEnroe Jr. was born in Wiesbaden (West Germany) on the 16th of February 1959. His parents, John and Kay, were both American and were living in Germany as his father was there for his job with the U.S. Air Force. As McEnroe was a child, the family moved to Newburgh in New York's Stewart Air Force Base, and then moved to Flushing, Queens, in 1961 and Douglaston in 1963. John's father, John, left the Air Force to become an advertising agent and then continued to Fordham Law School.
