 Graham McTavish, a Scottish actor and author , was born 4 January 1961. He is well-known for his role as Dwalin in The Hobbit film trilogy, Vlad Dracula Tepes in the Netflix animated franchise Castlevania, Loki in various Marvel animated projects, William Munny, the Saint of Killers in the AMC series Preacher, as well as Dougal MacKenzie and William Buccleigh MacKenzie in the Starz series Outlander. The actor is also known for his character of Dwalin in Uncharted 2 and 3: Among Thieves' principal antagonist Zoran Lazarevic. He is also the author of Clanlands: Whisky, Warfare and a Scottish Adventure Like No Other, which reached the top of the list at No. 1 in the year 2020. #1 on the New York Times' Best Seller Lists for hardcover nonfiction and for combined print and e-book nonfictionDuring school, McTavish and a friend wrote and performed comedy sketches. This resulted in his drama teacher requesting for him as a replacement for a character from Sheridan's The Rivals after the principal actor fell ill. He went on to attend Queen Mary University of London, earning an education in English literature.
