Anson Williams (born Anson William Heimlich on September 25, 1949, in Los Angeles, California) is an American actor as well as a singer and director best known for his role as gullible, well-intentioned singer Warren "Potsie" Weber on the show Happy Days (1974-1984), a part in which he was nominated for the Golden Globe Award for Best Supporting Actor - Series, Miniseries or Television Film.Unlike Howard and Most, Williams was one of only a handful of actors who remained on all of the runtime of the series, though his appearances were less frequent during the subsequent seasons. In a few episodes, Richie, Potsie, and Ralph formed a band combo which played at Arnold's Drive-In and other locations. Williams sang lead vocals as Potsie. Williams's former wife Lorrie Mahaffey was the singer who sang lead vocals for the group. Williams later returned to Happy Days in a retrospective manner.
