Alex Trebek

 Alex Trebek was a Canadian-born American host of game shows who had a net worth of $75 million at the date of his death. He was best known for his role as host of the syndicated game show "Jeopardy!". The show was hosted by him between 1984 and his death in November of the year 2020. Trebek passed away at the age of 80 following a lengthy battle with pancreatic cancer. The place he was born was Sudbury Ontario, Canada, July 22 in 1940. His father, George Edward Trebek, was an immigrant form Ukraine. His mother Lucille was Franco-Ontarian. The family was bilingual in English as well as French. He attended Sudbury High School, now Sudbury Secondary School. He continued his studies at the University of Ottawa. In 1961, he graduated with a philosophy degree. That same year, he started his career as a television journalist for the Canadian Broadcasting Corporation (CBC). He began by working as a replacement for announcers, eventually moving on to read the national news and also cover various special events for both the television and radio divisions of CBC.
