Maggie Gyllenhaal

 Margalit Ruth Gyllenhaal (/’dZIl@nho.l/; November 16 1977) is an American actress. Part of the Gyllenhaal family she is the daughter of film makers Stephen Gyllenhaal and Naomi Achs and the elder sibling of actor Jake Gyllenhaal.She began her acting career when she was a teenager and had minor roles in some of her father's films, and also starred alongside her brother in the film that became a cult hit Donnie Darko (2001). She then was in Adaptation, Confessions of a Dangerous Mind (both 2002) and Mona Lisa Smile (2003). Gyllenhaal was highly praised for her performances in the romantic comedy drama Secretary (2002 and 2006) as well as the action drama Sherrybaby (2006). Both of these films earned her a nomination for a Golden Globe Award. After a string of commercially successful movies in 2006, including World Trade Center, she gained more attention for her performance as Rachel Dawes in the superhero film The Dark Knight (2008).
