George Strait

 George Harvey Strait Sr. was born May 18th, 1952. He is an American singer, songwriter and actor. Strait is often referred to as the "King of Country", and is a well-known musician, singer and songwriter, actor and music producer from the United States. His first single, "Unwound," was released in 1981. This was the beginning of the popularization of the neotraditional genre. In the 1980s, seven albums from Strait reached the top of the country charts. Strait received his first Grammy Award for the album Troubadour in 2000. He was also named Artist of the Decade at the Academy of Country Music. Strait was awarded CMA Entertainer of the Year in 1989, 1990 and 2013, and ACM Entertainer of the Year in 1990 and 2014. Strait has been nominated for many more CMA as well as ACM awards and has more wins in each category than any other artist.
