Farrah Leni Fawcett (born Ferrah Leni Fawcett; February 2, 1947 - June 25 in 2009) was an American actress. Fawcett was an eight-time Primetime Emmy Award nominee as and a six-time Golden Globe Award nomination. Her international fame came when she starred in the first season's Charlie's Angels. She appeared on numerous television series in the 1970s along with Lee Majors, her husband who was a television and film actor. The iconic red swimsuit poster sold six million copies during its debut year of printing. Her breakthrough character was that as a private detective Jill Munroe in Charlie's Angels in which she co-starred with Kate Jackson and Jaclyn Smith. The show helped propel the three actresses to fame. Fawcett quit Charlie's Angels after appearing in the premiere season of the show in 1976.
