Evander Holyfield (born October 19 1962) is an American former professional boxer who fought between 1984 and 2011. The 1980s saw him as the undisputed champion in the cruiserweight division. He also held the title at the heavyweight division during the 1990s. He is often referred to as "the Real Deal", Holyfield is the only world heavyweight champion, having held the unification WBA, WBC, and IBF titles from 1990 until 1992, and the WBA as well as the IBF titles again from 1993 until 1994, and the WBA title a second time from 1996 until 1999, the IBF title a third time from 1997 to 1999 and the WBA title for the fourth time from 2000 to 2001.As an amateur, Holyfield represented the United States at the 1984 Summer Olympics where he won a bronze medal in the division of light heavyweight. He turned professional at the age 21 becoming a cruiserweight in 1985. He also won his first world championship in his first year of professional competition, beating Dwight Muhammad Qawi for the WBA title.
