Elton John

 Sir Elton Hercules John CH CBE (born Reginald Kenneth Dwight; 25 March 1947) is an English musician, singer and composer as well as Philanthropist. Commonly nicknamed"the "Rocket Man" due to his 1972 smash single of the same name, John has led a lucrative career as a solo artist from the 1970s onward and has released 31 albums in the years since 1969. In collaboration with lyricist Bernie Taupin since 1967, John is acclaimed by musicians and critics especially for his work during the 1970s, and his long-lasting influence on the industry of music. John's style of music, showmanship and his music have had a profound influence on the popular music scene. One of the most popular collaborations in songwriting history is John's collaboration with Taupin. John was born in Pinner, London. He learned piano early on and formed the blues band Bluesology (in 1962). John left Bluesology in 1967 and embarked on a solo career. He was introduced to Taupin when they answered an advertisement seeking writers. They wrote songs for various artists during the span of two years.
