Dolly Parton

 Dolly Rebecca Parton (born January 19th, 1946) is an American singer-songwriter, actress as well as philanthropist and businesswoman most well-known for her work in country music. After having achieved success as a music writer for other artists, Parton made her album debut in 1967 with Hello, I'm Dolly, which was followed by success throughout the remainder of the 1960s (both as a solo artist and with a series of duet albums featuring Porter Wagoner), before her chart-toppers and sales came during the 1970s and continued through the 1980s. The albums of Parton in the 1990s did not sell as well, but she was able to achieve commercial success after the turn of the millennium. She released albums through various independent labels in the years since 2000 as well as her own label, Dolly Records. Parton has sold more than 100 million records across the globe. Her music includes Recording Industry Association of America's (RIAA-certified platinum, gold and multi-platinum award-winning tracks. She has had 25 songs reach no. one on the Billboard country charts which is a record for a female artist (tied with Reba McEntire).
