Christina Renee Hendricks (born May 3 1975) is an American actress and model. She has had a long career in the world of stage and screen with numerous awards like six Primetime Emmy Award nominations and two Screen Actors Guild Awards. Critics also gave her two Critics Choice Awards for Best Supporting Actress in a Drama Series. She is most likely best known for her character Joan Harris in the critically well-received AMC drama series Mad Men. Esquire magazine rated her as the "sexiest woman" in 2010, based on an interview with female readers. In addition, she was voted "Best Looking Woman in America".Born to an American mother and an English father in Knoxville, Tennessee, Hendricks was born in Portland, Oregon, and Twin Falls, Idaho, where she was active in the local theatre. After graduation from high school in Virginia she moved to New York City, where she pursued a career of modeling after her Seventeen cover contest entry. She continued to work internationally as a model over 10 years, before moving into acting.
