Christina Maria Aguilera (/aegI'le@r@/; Spanish: [agi'lera]; born December 18th, 1980) is an American musician, singer, actress, and television celebrity. She is known for her four-octave voice range and ability to sustain high notes her name has been described as the "Voice of Generation X". [3][4] Aguilera was a star with her debut album. She is often credited with helping to revive teen pop in the late 1990s. After appearing on television, Aguilera signed to RCA Records in 1998. Her debut album was the source of three Billboard Hot 100 number-one singles including "Genie in a Bottle", "What a Girl Wants" and "Come On Over Baby (All I Want Is You)" -- and earned her the Grammy Award for Best New Artist.
